I had always heard tattoos were addictive, but no one ever warned me that cats were! I didn’t expect to become so hooked when I got my first kitten in the summer of 2023. But here we are, approaching the end of 2024 with six cats in the family. Yes, you read that right—six! It was a quick slide into "crazy cat lady" territory. And here's a little secret: I’d probably adopt even more, but my husband does a great job of reining me in.
So, what do you do with six cats? Obviously, you start a business and make them your official mascots. Now, when my husband catches me browsing Petfinder, I tell him I’m just "searching for new employees." He doesn't find that nearly as funny as I do, lol.
Let me introduce you to the adorable cats you’ll see all over my website and social media pages. They might even make a surprise appearance during a video call one day!
Meet Our Cats: The Stars of Cat and a Teacup
Spooky
Spooky is my gateway cat to all things feline. This tiny black kitten with a white belly spot stole our hearts. We spoiled him rotten, and you can tell—he’s now the boss of the house! Although he’s the youngest of our crew, he’s got the confidence of a seasoned leader.
Raptor
Next came Raptor, a solid black cat with striking green eyes. Raptor is the sweetest, cuddliest cat you’ll ever meet. He loves everyone and everything, and he’s always up for a cuddle. But don’t let that soft exterior fool you—he’s also a bit of a mischief-maker, always up to some playful shenanigans.
Winston
Winston is our first tuxedo cat, and he’s got the cutest little half-mustache. He’s on the shy side, preferring the company of our dog over humans. He follows her everywhere but isn’t a fan of being petted. Winston has his own way of showing love, which doesn’t involve any physical affection from us humans.
Cornelius (aka Corny)
We adopted Corny, Winston’s brother, to keep him company. Corny started off super shy, only showing love by snuggling with your toes. But over time, he’s come out of his shell, and now he’ll curl up with you for a full-on cuddle session. He still has a soft spot for feet, though!
Remus
After swearing we were done at four cats, my resolve quickly crumbled when my daughter went to a local cat café for a birthday party. I spent the entire event cuddling a grumpy older tabby who turned out to be a total snuggle bug. Two days later, I brought home Remus. He’s a bit shy around the other cats but loves to curl up next to me at night.
Crookshanks
Finally, we have Crookshanks, Remus’ best buddy from the cat café. He’s our only ginger, a tiny 5lb ball of sass. Crookshanks has a feisty side—if he doesn’t want to do something, he’ll make sure you know by passing the smelliest gas around. You’ve been warned!
